This open-level workshop focuses on Improv Fundamentals. Whether you're a beginner or want to revisit the basics, this session is perfect for everyone. The instructor will guide you through the essential building blocks of improv, helping you gain confidence, improve spontaneity, and unleash your creativity.

💡 Meet the Facilitators


🔥 Liv Grøthe is a dynamic improviser who commands the Oslo stage with a bold presence and a commitment to creating excellent shows. A founding member of Egg Squish It! and one-half of Livikki, she infuses every performance with creative energy and a deadpan wit that sets her apart.
After serving as PR Manager for Impro Neuf in 2024 and coordinating members' workshops for over two years, Liv now takes on the role of Leader and Artistic Director for 2025. Her vision is to elevate show quality, spark innovative projects, and expand volunteer involvement, ensuring Impro Neuf remains an energetic, inclusive, and sustainable community.
With a degree in dramapedagogy and directing, Master’s degree in History and years of experience as a tourguide, she blends carefull attention to details with fearless creativity to shape a fresh, compelling chapter in Oslo improv.


👨 Magnus Seines is a sharp, quick-witted performer known for his playful presence on stage. He has been an integral part of Oslo’s improv scene for years and served on the board of Impro Neuf for two consecutive terms. In 2021, he was a general board member, and in 2022, he became Leader and Artistic Director, guiding the community through the return to regular live shows at Chateau Neuf after the pandemic. His leadership helped ensure that shows, workshops, and community events continued to thrive during a challenging time.
Outside of improv, Magnus works as a software developer and enjoys Dungeons & Dragons, where he channels his love for collaborative storytelling into building characters and creating worlds.

Their signature format—built around real hometown memories shared by the audience—relies on clear choices and grounded play to create fully improvised narratives. That same attention to detail and commitment to clarity is at the heart of this workshop, where they invite participants to discover how specificity can unlock momentum and creativity in the moment.
 

💡 About Open Improv Workshops


Impro Neuf’s Open Improv Workshops are fully drop-in sessions, offering a fun and beginner-friendly introduction to the world of improvisational theatre. No prior experience is needed—just show up and jump in!

Each workshop is led by a different facilitator, bringing their own unique style and perspective to the session. Over the course of the semester, these workshops are designed to cover a variety of improv fundamentals, providing opportunities to explore different aspects of the art form.

While attending multiple workshops will give you a well-rounded understanding of improv, every session is stand-alone and does not build on previous ones. This makes it perfect for newcomers to join at any time, while regulars can enjoy fresh exercises and insights every week.
